One good parent

Dylan is lucky that he at least has one good parent......and yes you guessed it that would not be me but Mr Perfect ohhhh I mean Collin....Dylan is also lucky that he has one fun parent and no....you guessed wrong ...that would be me....We actually are both good parents and both share alot of fun times with Dylan....but I would say that Collin tends to be a little stuffier than I....a little more cautious than I....just not quite as fun and kid like as I...I am sure most of you are saying that is a good thing.....well I am sure you are right...but I am blogging so it really doesn't matter what you think....see its all about my perception of reality...this is my blog....so it is all ab out what I think.....and I think it is ok for Dylan to have his first taste of pumpkin pie filling at Thanksgiving.....Mr No Fun...Perfect Collin...looked at me in disbelief and horror....not our child...he can't taste pumpkin pie filling...it has to many ingredients...he might get sick...he might like it.....sugar......blahhh blahhh blahhhhh....as I sternly looked at Mr Good Parent and advised him that my child will taste pumpkin pie filling if he wants...that a 1/4 teaspoon won't make him sick...and that if he likes it....well isn't that the whole purpose of eating pumpkin pie filling.....to like it......I then decided to really push my luck....lets just see how far we can push Mr Perfect Parent of the Year...and with that I let Dylan just on the edge of his tongue taste my Caffeine free sugar free diet coke......Dylan loves to mimic what we do and as I was drinking my diet coke ....he reached for the can....I let him take it....he put it up to his mouth and put his tongue on the rim to taste it......now all of you shaking your head in disbelief....lets get honest with ourselves....it was a drop......I survived after being surrounded by a fog a cigarette smoke my entire youth....if I remember correctly from home videos Collin ran around the house with a beer box on his head...might I add some of those folks in those home videos look like they could be members of the Grateful Dead .....if you know what I mean....so with that I rest my case.....I think a balance of Good and Fun is needed in every family......we actually had a pretty good laugh over the whole episode of Diet Coke....yes Collin was really laughing.....will try to get his first bite of pumpkin pie filling on camera...we are working up to it with our daily baby food.......until next time
