A quiet Thanksgiving morning

This morning started out quietly....quietly Collin gave me a kiss before he headed off to the fire station...I then quietly snuck out of bed headed downstairs to take in a morning fire at the fireplace....a hot cup of cocoa...after all it is Thanksgiving...and a huge Thanksgiving addition of our local paper with all the after Thanksgiving day adds.....I always have such great plans to get up on Friday and head out shopping snatching all the good deals to be had....I spent a good 30 minutes going thru the adds....methodically setting up my route from store to store, planning my attack...noting all the good deals and finding someone to buy them for....then I spent the second half hour talking myself out of them....I am still heading out first thing in the morning but my list has dwindled though my excitement stays high......I originally had us purchasing a new 46 inch led tv, 3 or 4 digital picture frames, a portable dvd player, a coffee pot and a motorized jeep....wow.....my revised shopping list includes a $2.00 pie pans, $1.00 poinsettias....though I will get quite a few....and a $10.00 talking vacuum for Dylan.....

South Dakota....we had a wonderful but quick trip to South Dakota to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Davis.....we enjoyed a early Thanksgiving Dinner and it is always special to watch Grandma's and Grandpa's with their Grandchildren.....Dylan was pretty much perfect the entire trip...he slept the whole way to South Dakota which is a 5 hour drive and slept about 1/2 the trip on the way home...

Thanksgiving.....Dylan and I are flying solo today....we will be cooking a turkey and dressing and perhaps a couple of side dishes...wow a 21 pound turkey for two.....I am also going to make another pumpkin cream pie.....I made one for our South Dakota trip...wow super easy and quite delicious..........we will do our best to make a trip to go see dad on this special day.....

Thankful............wow what a time to reflect.....I have so much to be thankful for.....we are truly blessed.....we are all healthy, loved, warm and have plenty to eat.......even a little extra money for a pie plate and a poinsettias or two or three or maybe more......:)and a talking vacumm what more could you ask for....

We are looking forward to Christmas and the Holiday Season.....we are just about decorated and ready to go....Dylan and I will trim the tree today and perhaps work a little on the decorations in the yard..........................until next time have a wonderful Thanksgiving
