sunday

First and foremost Godiva Chocolate Biscuits and coffee on Sunday morning are way fabulous.....unfortunately if I choose to look at the calories I just devoured I probably shouldn't be eating again until sometime next week...........at the moment definitely worth it....at this moment not quite so sure....yesterday was a pretty good day...I think I picked up some new clients for new construction at my open house....and set a 2nd meeting for another couple that we are working with on new construction....ideally if I can secure 3 or 4 more builds for the builder I represent for the 2nd half of the year........he would have a incredible year....last night we headed over to some friends home to play games with a group of about 10....unfortunately we never made it to the games...Dylan didn't throw a fit but kept persistently heading to the door after about 1 and a half....he had enough fun for one night....Collin finally opened the front door and wanted to see what Dylan was wanting...our little man headed straight to the truck and wanted in his car seat and pointed to the steering wheel...he was pretty patient with his request and after countless trips to the door we decided it was probably just as well that we head home....I mean its not like we could have enjoyed the games anyways.....once we got home....we managed to play a couple of games of cribbage.......I rocked last night and won both games.....I also talked to my dear friend Jeanie from California....her little boy is turning 3 next month....I am thinking of making a quick trip to Northern California the next couple of months with Dylan to see Jeanie and her family.....I am thinking it would be a good idea before Dylan turns 2 and we have to pay for a second airline ticket......I am going to check on tickets today....today we have a good chance of getting a little snow...I have 2 clients to meet with today...fairly informal meetings....so Dylan can go.....one client got their home sold in Colorado so they can move forward with a home that they offered on here in Cheyenne.....and the other couple wants to see a additional home that the builder I represent is just finishing up....they also have a new floor plan for us to review....this is the couple that I have set a 2nd meeting with for next Thursday....otherwise a day at home with Dylan and a trip to the park sometime this afternoon............

And the Title goes to Feather Weight Dylan MacPhie

For some reason I am always inspired to blog in the morning....perhaps it because I have so much hope for the day in the morning.... Dylan must be going threw a growing spurt he is eating like crazy....its a good thing.....made our way to Gymboree the other day and picked up the cutest polo shirts for summer and pirate monkey overalls....... Children at his age are kind of amazing.....he actually reminds me of a unruly monkey right now....and to think I actually wanted a monkey at one time........my my thank goodness that thought went right on by....I guess I should know that manners and just plain common sense behavior doesn't apply to 21 month old children that they need to be taught everything....they have no sense of embarrassment for their actions....it is really quite amazing how much they act like little chimps at this age.......I must say for the most part I thoroughly enjoy it.....as I am going threw the motions navigating every fit ,demand ,and outrageous behavior I am somewhat impressed how bold this little guy can be and am always curious how I will handle what he throws me.......it is if I am in a boxing ring with this little guy putting me threw the paces ...and when I make a wrong step he delivers a blow watching for the very moment I put my guard down........I am telling myself this little guy has you on the ropes.....you need to dodge those upper cuts and take control of this ring....and just like that I shake it off get my feet moving again and take control back over the ring....secretly admiring the skills of this young little feather weight....

What a day

What a great day....a healthy balance of work and play....the morning started out fairly early at the office getting paper work caught up....had a successful open house.......business is good.....made it home by 2 and then we headed out to the 4-H carnival for kids......what a great time....$5.00 in tickets bought us more fun, games, and penny toys than anyone person could dream of......the highlight was Dylan jumping around in one of those blow up jump houses....they have never really impressed me....until today and I saw how much fun Dylan had in it....Monday I am going to reserve one for his birthday....I love Cheyenne.....I love the simple life that we have here....the 4-H carnival took me back to when I was a little girl living in a small rural town in California....I loved 4-H....and today I loved watching all the kids working the carnival booths...and all the kids that came to play the games.....it was fun to see how much fun and excitement this little carnival brought to everyone that participated in it....I love that at the open house today I had friends and old clients stop by just to say hi and enjoy a cup of coffee and talk about the weather....I love that the neighbors shoveled the walk yesterday and that Collin will do the same for them tomorrow...........tonight I love the big flakes of snow coming down and that we will have a hearty dinner of mashed red potatoes, green bean casserole, and grilled rib eye steaks....that the family will get tucked into bed early tonight...Dylan has had a busy day and should be fast asleep by 8 or so.....giving Collin and I a couple of hours to take in our favorite shows ....until next time

friday at home

Dylan and I are enjoying a day off and at home...yesterday was a pretty long day for Collin and I....I headed off to work at 8 am and finally made it home right before 6....it was suppose to end at 4 or so...so that Collin could head out and do snow removal....I ended up putting together a last minute contract last night...the good news is that we are under contract.....but it pushed my time getting home back to about 6....Collin headed out to go do snow removal as soon as I got home....and made it back home by 9:30 or so.....the whole family slept well so a plus on that end...Collin had to work today...so I am home with Dylan....I need to put away all of our Valentines decorations and I am going to make banana bread this afternoon....a pretty easy relaxing day....tomorrow I head into the office at 8 or so...I have paperwork and then a open house and meeting with clients...the good news is I had a family booked in the late afternoon to show properties to but they need to reschedule for Monday morning...which leaves Saturday afternoon open....our local 4-H club is having their annual fundraiser and children's carnival at our community college so I am excited that we will be able to take Dylan to the carnival in the afternoon........

Maggie aka Guinness

Maggie is always good for getting up with me and having morning coffee by the fireplace...we take in the morning together....Winston on the other hand chooses to sleep in with Dylan...as I get up every morning all I see of Winston is a big lump underneath the covers....he is awake...but has no desire to get up early...Maggie my goodness she is such a good girl...a true chow hound but such a good natured and wonderful dog....she is stout oh my is she stout....most at my work call her fat...Amy calls her obese and Collin correct all of them and says that she is just a big boned girl...it is quite amusing that he actually get a little offended by the thought that someone would call her fat..........so I will call her stout....like a good dark beer.....perhaps her nickname should be Guinness.......anyways I love our maggie mornings......
I will be taking most of the day off today....I need to schedule a couple of appointments for tomorrow....I was suppose to meet with the FAA today but they switched all of the meetings until tomorrow which will be good.....
Dylan had a upset tummy last night and just wasn't feeling well...it is good that we will have the day off together to just hang out.....with lots of cuddling...if he is feeling better perhaps a walk to the park will be in order..........
Well with that have a good day

Let it snow

Refueled....yesterday the whole family was able to refuel....we headed out first thing in the morning to do a little painting at a clients house....we were done by 11:30 or so....with nothing else on the agenda....that meant the rest of the day off for the whole family....we picked up the new chair and headed home....we spent the rest of the day watching football..playing with Dylan and a little cribbage thrown in, eating and drinking........a good day and the team we wanted to win did...
The chair looks great in the bedroom....and has inspired me to do a little more work in the room...I am going to head out sometime today and get new draw pulls and perhaps a little darker stain for the 2 dressers........Dylan loves the chair and has decided the ottoman is a perfect stepping stool to get on the bed.................for a good 45 minutes last night he would jump on the ottoman and then jump from the ottoman onto the bed...stand up and clap for himself...jump off the bed and start all over again...we were able to get it on video so we are happy about that..we don't catch nearly as much footage of Dylan growing up and I know that when we are older we will regret not getting more.........anyways the chair is a big success
This morning we have a light dusting of snow and little bits of snow sputtering from the sky...a perfect morning to enjoy a cup of coffee in front of the fireplace...watching Dylan play....another day of refueling then back to a long day at the office tomorrow...........

Tired

I haven't blogged lately because I really like to blog about good days and good things and moments in life that I enjoy....if I am having a bad day the last thing I want to do is have to go thru it all over again in a blog........not my thing...really for the most part life is awesome...really for the whole part life is awesome....but my mood....my mood has kind of been lousy and slightly overwhelmed....at least for the moment....Dylan is doing awesome and is eating like a champ....right now Daddy and Dylan are eating macaroni cheese........he is changing and growing so much right now...every day brings a new activity and new words....I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful little boy as my son....I literally pinch myself at night as I watch him fall asleep....feeling so lucky that he is my little boy....Dylan of course is still sleeping with us...we won't be kicking him out anytime soon....I think at this point it might be a harder adjustment for me than for him.,...for the last 20 or so months I have learned to sleep with this little boy cuddles in the crook of my arm...I love that he sleeps so close....it will of course be a big milestone for Dylan once he makes his way to his own bed....and I will be so excited for him once he is ready to make his bed his own...but there will be a part of me that is just a little bit heartbroken...every step he makes to growing up is celebrated but at the same time a reminder that my little boy is growing up that I will never experience this age again.........
Collin and Dylan have finished dinner and know have made their way to some pretty incredible chocolate fudge.........Dylan is just like his dad when it comes to sweets........he can't get enough....
Business............has been great....but new construction is just down right exhausting.....clients are stressed and emotional......for such a long period of time....it gets difficult and tiring keeping them emotionally balanced....when people buy homes it is just very stressful for them....this usually last for about a month....then they close move into their home and go on with life....new construction clients are held in a emotional limbo the entire time leading up to writing a contract thru the entire 4-8 month building process...............the statistics show that a large percentage of couples get divorced during or right after building a custom home..............crazy.....but I am pretty much the sounding board and the person that tries to keep the emotions in check and keep a healthy perspective towards building their home..... and right now we have 6 homes under contract so that is 12 stressed clients....and we are working on 3 new projects that we are hoping to get under contract in the next 30 days or so....my existing home business has also been very busy.....I guess I am just tired today and need a couple of hours to refuel.............home does that for me....I absolutely love our home...it truly is my haven from all the stress.....
Excited....I am very excited about a new leather chair that Collin got me today for Valentines Day....I scored big time....our master bedroom well is a little sad looking at the moment....I saw a very beautiful leather chair and ottoman....it was originally a $1800.00 or so leather chair and the style is being discontinued....so they are selling the floor model....and we purchased it for $600.00....I am guessing the real price was probably around a $1000.00 or so and not the $1800.00 they are claiming....these furniture stores...I love furniture...but I hate the stores....it just kind of feels like a used car lot.....they mark everything up just to mark it down.....anyways I am excited to have it in our bedroom...it will be nice to have a nice chair to read in...in our room....we spend a lot of time in our bedroom in the evening....when Collin is at work...Dylan and I head upstairs early in the evening....we take a bath....read...play and watch a little TV.....it is a large open room and we really enjoy our evening upstairs.........the chair will be a nice addition to the room...and perhaps inspire me to work on decorating it........looking forward to a nice hot bath tonight....a good night sleep....coffee, the Sunday paper in front of the fireplace in the morning....we have to head to a client house in the morning to help paint...then hopefully a nice afternoon at home watching the super bowl and admiring my new chair..............until next time
