The best $5.00 we spent all day

I really do love Cheyenne...it is just big enough to have the conveniences of a big community with all the comfort and familiarity of a small town....and they always have something going on every weekend for the community....as we got our Saturday paper this morning we noticed that our local downtown merchants were hosting a Easter Egg Hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny....need I say more....we were one of many many families standing in line awaiting our
turn to have a moment with Mr Easter Bunny.....Dylan did great with Santa pictures...but know that Dylan is older and wiser ....we held our breath wondering if he was going to smile or cry as he was perched on Mr Easter Bunny's knee....our deep breath was taken over by a big smile...as we watched Dylan look into Mr Easter Bunny's big eyes and began petting Mr. Easter Bunny's fur...he was quite taken with this big white bunny.....( he takes after his mom in this aspect ) we pick up our pictures on Tuesday and will post them once we receive them....probably the best $5.00 we spent all day....

Bussssssy

Wow it has been a busy week..so lets start with last weekend...we enjoyed last weekend with good family friends and spent the weekend in Saratoga Wyoming...they have natural hot springs in Saratoga....and thats pretty much it...it is about 2 hours from Cheyenne...just a very small little quaint town known for their Hot Springs....Dylan absolutely loved the hot springs...it really is a great family setting and we had a wonderful time...I think we have decided that we are going to try to make the Hot Springs a annual spring trip....it really was so nice to get away

Dylan had his first major fall this week...he fell directly on his face with a little help from Maggie...he had a bloody nose..I felt terrible...we went to the Doctor immediately....all is well...but it was pretty darn scary.......

Business has been busy busy busy.....home has been busy....and Collin has been busy we have been running all week....

I believe we have found someone to watch Winston for our trip to California...she is a retired school teacher that pet sits and donates the money she makes from pet sitting to a local private shelter.....she is going to let Winston sleep with her and she is home almost all day long........perfect.............we feel relieved since he just doesn't do well in a kennel.....he is just to spoiled......and is so use to having constant companionship.....so we are now excited about our trip without feeling worried about Winston....she is also going to take Maggie this trip....

until next time..........maybe tomorrow :)

Houston........we have a problem

Yes we do indeed......Dylan has figured out the difference from baby food...to big boy food......and has put a all out ban on baby food.......I can't say I can blame him....Collin had been tricking him by putting baby food on a plate versus serving it from the jar...it worked for awhile...but his little trick was discovered and denied at dinner....he know only will eat it...once he sees that we actually eat it first....and no.... faking it doesn't work...Dillybar is to quick for that trick...I believe he will still eat green beans, sweet potatoes, and prunes in baby food form...otherwise he still will eat anything that we actually eat...he is also starting to protest to us feeding him and he want to feed himself....our baby is growing up....

Collin and Dylan took a bike ride today with the new bike trailer...Dylan loved the bike trailer...they even stopped by the office to visit....this afternoon we all went for a jog in the park......this evening Collin put together some little cedar boxes for the Fur Ball held for the animal shelter...will put a picture of them online once we have them done...we will be donating them for the auction....little cedar boxes with puppies on the front filled with a doggie bandanna and Carob dipped dog bones (looks like chocolate and safe for dogs)and peanut butter dipped dog bones....we also donated a metal dog sculpture for the auction...it is such a good cause and a pretty big event here for the animal shelter..........with that it is time to end the day with my baby, a bath, a book, then bed

Disapointment---a good thing

This afternoon we made a quick trip to Fort Collins to REI to pick up our new side car for my bike for Dylan....we ordered the side car last week sometime...right after we ordered it....we found a bike trailer for Dylan online...we have been extremely happy with our Baby Jogger Stroller and while we were on their website to order a wind cover for the jogger we found a bike trailer on clearance....it was a $500.00 trailer for $200.00....well we went ahead and ordered it since it was such a great deal and really weren't sure whether the sidecar would be compatible with our bikes and be what we envisioned it to be....well we happened to get the bike trailer from Baby Jogger today......it is really great quality and is nicer than anything we have came across in the $400-700 price range....isn't that crazy sooooo much money....so anyways we headed up to REI to see our sidecar we ordered.........wow what a disappointment...I guess for $500.00 we just expected more...it was really tight for Dylan already at 81/2 months so we decided not to get the sidecar and to return it......so we know have our standard very nice trailer that we got at a great price....I guess disappointment in this case was a good thing

Happiness is................

Happiness Is Home With Dylan

For the love of food

I am not sure where Dylan got his love of food from...I am guessing his Grandpa Moody...When Dylan eats it reminds me of how his Grandpa Moody eats........he thoroughly enjoys foods and eats everything...it is really quite fun to watch....as he yummmmms....and ummmmms thru every bite....and he gets so excited when he watches us preparing a meal....perhaps we have a chef in our future...when I made meatballs and spaghetti sauce last weekend...Dylan watched in his little command center never getting bored with the action....my favorite part of fixing the meatballs and spaghetti sauce was when I would be stirring the big batch of sauce with one hand and Dylan in my other.....I brought the big wooden spoon to my lips for a taste and at that same moment Dylan reached over to grab the spoon for a little taste for himself...as I blew on the sauce his eyes watched intently...he eagerly waited for his turn at the spoon....and then the taste...his little mouth did its best to take in the entire wooden spoon....and at his first taste he let out a ummmmmmmm and wanted more.....Friday night he dined on Salmon, wild rice, and broccoli...oh what fun we are going to have in the kitchen together........

well with that I am headed off to enjoy my morning with my family.....it is another beautiful day here in Cheyenne so perhaps a walk in the park...I have a open house this afternoon and then I am taking a client to view the home that he put a offer on yesterday...........tonight is cheeseburgers on the grill........we probably need to make a extra one for Dylan

updates

Lets start out with some Dylan updates.......he is crawling everywhere :)....and is often pulling himself up on anything he can find..............teething.......poor guy and poor us...Dylan is now getting teeth #5, and #6 at the same time..........when Dylan is teething he doesn't sleep well and gets cold like symptoms......that means that Dad and I don't sleep well either....he still nurses at night and and during the day when he wants to be comforted but has become a big fan of the sippy cup....and is now drinking his momma' milk from his sippy cup.......by the way he loves water...and food.....anytime we eat....he gets very excited and can't wait to try whatever we might be eating....he is growing like a weed and we can't wait to see what each new day will bring...........
Winston's pending fatherhood has been postponed for approximately another 6 months....his sweetheart came into heat but has a infection so breeding will not take....it is kind of funny the same thing happened the last time we breed Winston...we also had to weight for the 2nd breeding cycle....
Maggie is doing wonderful...she is such a wonderful addition to the family....Winston and Mr Mooks have fully embraced her and as time goes by I am becoming more and more attached to this special girl....
Me.....well motherhood is more than I could ever hope for...We are often asked if we are planning on a 2nd child.......the answer is... that we got perfection the first time around....we are stopping while we our ahead...perhaps if I was younger we might consider it....but we are both very happy with the blessing in Dylan and very happy with our family just the way it is...I am really enjoying my career here in Cheyenne...I work with such a great group of people...and business has been good with the economy and being new to this market place....I am so blessed with the ability for the most part to be able to make my own schedule and spend so much time with Collin and Dylan....
Collin is a natural when it comes to fatherhood and I couldn't imagine a better father...Dylan is a lucky little boy...all is well at the fire department and Collin is really looking forward to Spring so that he can get back on his bike and back on the road...we just purchased a side car that attaches to our bikes so that Dylan can go with us....we also just purchased a bike trailer for Dylan also....it was a really good deal and we think that it might work better for Collin taking Dylan while the side car will work with my bike.........oh the fun we will have this summer....
Well with that I need to get my day started....I am going to go run today with Dylan (actually a very slow jog...)....make my way to the grocery store....Lowes....Hobby Lobby...and round out the day with a little afternoon cleaning and maybe a little baking for Dad...we have found that Dylan really likes to go and is quite happy going on our errands with us...so with that we are off............have a great day

A Almost Perfect Sunday

Once again another beautiful winter day here in Cheyenne...we decided to make a trip to Fort Collins to do a little shopping that cannot be accomplished here in Cheyenne....before we made our way to Fort Collins we started the morning with great Sunday morning music that begged us to get up and dance and sing our way thru the morning.........then off to Fort Collins........
Our Deals.......

We found a great children shoe store called Stride Shoe Store.....Dylan got his first really nice pair of shoes for children...it was nice to have him sized properly and to find good pair of summer sandals......he is wearing a 5 Wide.........poor kid going to have big wide feet just like his mom....they were very affordable for such good quality...I think as he gets older and shoes become more and more important we will be making the trip to get his shoes at this store...

Collin picked up a great pair of running shoes at REI...he had a gift certificate plus a 20% off coupon.......he is very happy with his shoes........and such a good deal

We finally made our way to Babies/Toys R Us........I hate this store..........such a rip off for the most part...........but we needed to by some baby proofing items........and they were the same price as the ones I wanted online so we bought probably twice as much stuff as we needed..........but better safe than sorry.........ouch we left $115.00 poorer.........

My favorite purchase of the day well 2nd favorite.....a child size Adirondack chair for 6 bucks

Finally I can say the whole families favorite purchase.....was a very nice Chariot side car that attaches to our bikes for Dylan...we are so excited about this summer and taking Dylan with us on our bike rides ....after some research we decided that this would work better for our needs than a bike trailer it is really pretty cool and will allow me to also take Dylan confidently.......it is quite a initial investment but we think over the years the enjoyment will easily pay for it self..

We were initially concerned about such a long day in Fort Collins that we might run into a tired and frustrated little baby...........but Dylan handled it all like a champ....he really is such a easy baby.....he took the whole day in stride...he enjoyed all the shopping and loves to watch people.....he cat napped between stores....and once we stopped to eat lunch....he didn't miss a beat...had lunch with Mom and Dad and then nestled into his car seat for a nice long nap on the way home........it is amazing how he just fits in so perfect with all of our activities he just pretty much is up for whatever comes his way.........

We are now home...... the whole family eating a little Spaghetti and Meatballs......by the way...wasn't so sure about the meatballs yesterday but today........they were very good...moist and light....not to heavy and good flavor....I will tweak the recipe just a little.........we are now finishing our evening with more music....crawling....and will take a bath with Dillybar as soon as I sign off ..........with that ...almost a perfect day..........perfect would have been a coupon for all of our purchases for free............

Crawling, grass pants, and rants.......

We are very excited to announce that Dylan is now crawling....he started earlier today and by this evening he has already become quite the master of it....he is also pulling himself up onto everything and has figured out how to fall back on his behind...he is also attempting to walk when we put our hands out to him ...he grabs on and goes.......a little wobbly but he understands the whole idea of one foot in front of another.....so with all of this exciting news it is time to get the house somewhat baby safe....we will work on this over Collin's four day....

Well I never made my meatballs yesterday....I did though bake the cupcakes......yummm....tomorrow it is just me and Dillybar so I am thinking I will make my way to Sam's Club and pick up some feta and good Parmesan and asiago cheese......it is so much less expensive at Sam's Club so tomorrow I am hoping to make the meatballs.....I also got a invite to this months girls night out party....we are all going out to dinner and have to dress up as your favorite saying.......I think I am going to dress up as the grass is/isn't always greener on the other side......I am thinking I can buy 2 different shades of indoor outdoor fake grass and sew one shade of grass on half of my clothing and the other shade of grass on the other......will post a photo once the outfit is done......

Well Collin and Dylan are taking a bath together........wow its 8:22 and Dylan is still up........I am sure we will have a mini meltdown as soon as he gets out of the tub....he will realize that he is actually tired and demand to go to sleep immediately.............that means that I must be ready for bed also since Dylan is still sleeping with Mom and Dad..........I know I know....I can see all of you nodding your heads in disbelief..........what a nightmare she and Collin have created for themselves.........you all have a right to your opinions and I know that YOU value them......and you can keep having your opinions to yourselves while your at it ........perhaps when he is 14 and is still sleeping with us....I just might then....and only then conclude that you are all right.............about not having Dylan sleep with us.....until then most nights we will adore our little angel tucked into bed with us........I honestly couldn't imagine it any other way...it is just feels like the way it should be............I mean lets get real...I am the same woman that lets Winston, Mr Mooks and on occasion Miss Maggie sleep on the bed with me.....of course I am going to let my child sleep with me........with that I have ran out of time............Dylan is out of the tub until next time

cupcakes and pull ups..........

Wow another beautiful Winter day here in Cheyenne...today I am home all day with Dillybar...I am baking cupcakes to take down to the fire department....I am baking Death by Chocolate Cupcakes......I would have preferred carrot cake cupcakes.....German chocolate cupcakes...but the cupcakes are not for me but for Collin.....just as well had I baked lets say carrot cupcakes they would make up my entire diet for the whole day.......yes I am still on my diet.....I have lost 15 pounds since the first of the year and seem to be at a holding pattern....but I am feeling alot better now and ready to jump back on the diet wagon and the running trail and get the scale moving south.........I am also going to make some Spaghetti this afternoon for tomorrow....I think I am also going to attempt to make some meatballs....I have decided that I want to master making meatballs.......so I will begin to start working on the recipe this evening....hopefully here in the next couple of months I should have a recipe for some pretty tasty meatballs figured out....Dylan has mastered pulling himself up ...right now he is standing up leaning against the living room ottoman pulling the cats tail...........I don't quite get Mr Mooks...he lays on the ottoman...Dylan pulls himself up to the ottoman and begins to pull the cats tail.....Mooks meows...I make Dylan stop......then they start it all over again....let me remind you that Mr Mooks can move at anytime.........but he doesn't....in fact now he has just laid next to Dylan on the floor........the only thing that makes sense is that Mr Mooks really likes Dylan and is awfully understanding of the occasional yank on his tail........Dylan hasn't mastered crawling yet but we think we are within a week or so of it happening....he has though gotten quite good at standing and I also think is within weeks of pushing himself around the house..........he is turning into a little boy right before our eyes.............well with that it is time to play with my little guy...........wish me luck on my meatballs....

friends and family

Today I am beginning to feel better.....my nose is still running like a faucet... but I feel confident that my cold is done and now I am just back to allergies which I am now back on my allergy medicine as of this afternoon....it might also just be wishful thinking......anyways I will keep you all posted....we had a great Sunday...it started off with a pretty goodnight sleep last night and this morning was filled with a little baking and family time....we then headed to Eaton to spend time with friends and family...we always look forward to family time...it was good to see everyone....we then made our way home and finished the evening with a walk in the park....good friends of ours live down the street and we just happened to head out for a walk in the park at the same time...so Scott, Angie, and their dog Duffy joined us on our evening walk around the park....we ran into a fellow fireman and his dog...and also ran into one of my clients who I now consider friends.....what a nice day to be surrounded by so many friends and family....well Dylan is eating a little dinner and I am going to slip away into a hot bath........
